Administrative Assistant
A new arrival to Canada from Nigeria, Blessing and her family came to Halifax in the middle of a snowstorm and have since found warmth and community. After attending Kogi State University to study economics, she worked as a stock analyst, started a cupcake business, and most recently ran digital marketing for a non-profit organization empowering women and girls.
At Eastport, Blessing’s focus is on client services and operations. “It feels good to work with people who share my values,” she says. “They’re so hardworking and focused, and they inspire me with their generosity.”
As Blessing explains, the Eastport ethos is hard work plus balance: “We’re all encouraged to be healthy and enjoy our families first. I’m happy to be back doing what I love—working in the financial world—and with people who are so accepting, and encouraging.”
When she’s not working, Blessing enjoys spending time in the kitchen, crafting delightful meals such as jollof rice and meat pies.
